Near York University, Thai Bamboo is West of Keele with free parking and a good menu. It is family food that is appropriate (against Toronto prices); the portion size is the best. Last time I ordered Tangy Tamarinden-Rind and Thai/Kabbage-Salat – big enough to share, plus spicy eggplant, and coconut chicken-skewers on cucumber sauce. Dishes range $14-$18 for pad Thai, sweet basil (bef/Seafood not bad), or curry chicken dishes. The portions are very good, often gluten-free, not too salty, and with vegetarian options (e.g. tom yum soup). Lemongrass chicken / beef takes half an hour to cook, so preorder is best for bbq. The peanuts are offered on the side, and the variety of vegetables in dishes gives color and taste. I'd say the food is healthy and don't swim in fat. Since the pandemic, more students/offers went online so that the hours have changed. It is still closed Sun-Mon., but the kitchen opens at 11:00 and closes earlier: 8:00 Tues-Thurs. and 9:00 Fri-Sat. The side door is usually ajar where there is no disabled stable and there are no stairs at the entrance. Uber Eats also provides meals in the area. For decent service and menu options, I have returned here and taken home rests every time... again and again enjoy a “home cooked” meal!

Bad service. Greasy and low quality. Prawns were good. Ok if your looking for a budget fill up. Not for the healthy eater. Wouldn't go back.

Not high class but tasty and reasonable. You get big portions. The service isn't great and the interior isn't decorated. Go for the food because the atmosphere is non existant.

Delicious Thai food. Normally order the fresh rolls with a pad Thai dish. Highly recommend and will definitely be going back.

On the one hand, there were unique dishes at this restaurant that I don't often see on Thai menus (mango chicken, for instance). The food all tasted good, there was plenty of food, though the service was lacking. We were seated and somewhat ignored for a while. After taking our order either the waitress brought the wrong dish for my father-in-law or forgot one of the things we ordered. We were in a hurry to leave and asked for our check, waited, it wasn't brought over for several minutes despite a half empty restaurant, and we got up and got our own packages for to-go food. Overall, I'd recommend this place if you don't mind slow service and want basic thai food with few frills.

We've been going to this restaurant for many years, and it's our go-to for real Thai and Lao food. You won't find ketchup in their Pad Thai. Their Nam Khao is the best to be had in the GTA. Chicken laab is never enough. Som Tam is pungent the way it should be - and delicious. We've taken so many people here and every single one of them loved the food and have become loyal or repeat customers themselves. Family members (who were either born or lived for years in Thailand) gave their hearty approval. Friends who have never had the cuisine before (and some of them are quite picky) enjoyed the new foods we introduced them to, while those who have gone to other Thai restaurants said the food here is better. We've only ever gone here for dinner. Service is always friendly and the ambiance enhances the overall dining experience.Next time you go, leave the stir fries and curries for another day. Try the dishes mentioned above, if you haven't yet. Order a basket or two of sticky rice - it goes really well with som tam and laab. One small basket is good for two.The spiciness levels here are serious stuff. The Inferno sauce from Taco Bell is milder than their mild so, unless you really love spicy food, asking for medium spicy will set your mouth on fire. I can't count the number of times overhearing other diners complain that they ordered mild or medium but "this is toooo spicy".

We have been to this restaurant many times. Quite frankly if it wasn't that the food was so good, I would never go here. The service is so bad most of the time especially on a Saturday night. Not sure if this is because of all the take out business but you can count on them screwing up your order and or watching 5 or 6 tables that came after you get their food before you. Last time we were there, we were one of first tables seated in the restaurant but probably one of the last to get our food despite asking about it many times. Our server could have cared less and kept smiling and saying she didn't know what was happening with our food. Avoid Saturday night! On a Tuesday night, we walked in and got our food within minutes - it is so hit and miss.

Good food but not a glamorous restaurant . Not the best location. Not a restaurant I would recommend unfortunately
