Since I was by myself, I decided to order a basic meal and get dinner over with quickly. I ordered the eye fillet, medium-well. The chef actually came out and delivered the meal to me so that he could make sure I was happy with the way it was cooked. I think I ate one of the best steaks of my life. The salad was good and the side of chips were perfect. The two wait staff working on the night were attentive without being pushy and very pleasant. I intend to come back here with family or friends and give some of the other dishes a try if this is the usual standard.

All the meals were delicious and consistent throughout. We had the fish taco entree which was Refreshing and tasty. I then got the special - rib eye with green pepper whiskey sauce and my partner got the fish of the day - Atlantic Salmon. Both meals were absolutely delicious. We were also recommended the new Reisling by our friendly waitress, It was a fantastic recommendation. We both left very satisfied with our experience and are looking forward to coming back in the future.

My husband & I so enjoyed the whole dinner experience. We selected from a set menu as we were using a voucher. This menu contained enough choice to pique our taste buds. The pulled chicken was tasty and the lamb perfect. The staff were friendly, helpful & professional. It was a quiet evening and,in spite of our desire to take it slowly, at no stage were we rushed to finish our meal.I'm looking forward to returning and tasting some of the other dishes on the main menu.

Birthday dinner with friends. Lovely Restaurant. Service was ok, a water jug on the table might be better than having to call the waitress all the time to top us up. The Food was Delicious, a bit pricey, but the quality was excellent. Could be a bit noisy with lots of people talking. Lucky for us this wasn't a busy night.

We were very happy with our visit to Sylvia's. We arrived early and had a drink in the lounge adjoining the bar, then went to our table and chose our meals from the menu (with great difficulty as it all looked very appealing). My taste buds are tingling just thinking about it.You would probably class it is a special occasion restaurant as the prices are quite 'up there' - but so worth it. We won't wait for a special occasion to go again. You always get what you pay for, and the chefs at Sylvia's have what it takes to keep the diners happy.Desserts were great too - perfectly made Creme Brulee - yum!!Waiter service was not intrusive, and we thoroughly enjoyed our night.

My dining companion wanted a vodka martini - stirred, not shaken - however, they were out of vermouth. 2nd choice was a margarita. Sorry, didn't have all the ingredients. He settled on a pinot grigio. For me, they didn't have Beck's beer. I settled on a James Boag Premium. Several dishes came with chips. Fine dining. Chips. The seafood chowder I ordered was very nice, as was the calamari stuffed with pork according to he who had no martini. The charcuterie board (for 2) was a mish-mash of confusion. The prosciutto was nice (as it should be) but one was left eating clumps of it instead of a lean strip at a time. This was because of the presentation of the plate. No thought to the spatial outlay of the plate. Nothing else memorable on the plate. Olives of course. But everything else was nondescript meat by-product of some sort. The duck was awful. Oily skin and overcooked meat. Was meant to come with orange confit but there was none to be seen let alone tasted. Toto, I have a feeling we're not in Paris any more. The layout of the restaurant was good. Ample space between dining patrons. The service was very good albeit minimal staff. Amiable wait person who's other career could be on the stage or a travelling business coach along the lines of change management. Would I go back? Not for a while. Mr No-Martini said he'd go back any time. If he does, I hope they have vermouth on hand.

My husband and I went to Sylvia's restaurant on Saturday night. The atmosphere is relaxing, the service is excellent and the food it was without a doubt the best meal my husband and I had ever had. The prices are very resonable and the quality is high. We will definately be going back. I can highly recommend this restaurant

Visited Sylvia's last night after contemplating going for the past 18 months or so. The place is beautiful. Lovely grounds in the heart of Wynnum West that has chalets, function centre, restaurant and more. The restaurant is beautifully laid out and the tree in the middle is a great centrepiece. We has starters and mains and all we're superb. Outstanding even.Prices were better than reasonable and I've paid considerably more elsewhere for less quality and quantities. No,way could we manage a dessert and we had to be rolled back to the car! We've been in Australia for three years and probably dine out three or four times a week. I have to say, this was our best meal here to date. Excellent. We will be visiting weekly from now on.
