This is my idea of a perfect relaxed meal! Delicious morsels on every plate, the stuffed fried olives are well worth a taste .... honestly every plate was perfect for my palate. The Carne (Hanger Steak), Vieiras Con Cheta (Seared Scallops) and the Bondiola Ahumado (Smoked Pork shoulder) were my pick of the plates with all condiments perfectly flavour matched.

Spent an interesting evening at Ole recently. The service was good and the overall ambiance was welcoming and friendly, but the food was so disappointing. The paella was soggy and greasy, making a slopping noise when it hit the plate. It was also so salty and that flavour dominated at the expense of all others. It was also supposed to be a share plate - by the time a few now hungry friends had had a go at it there was not much left. The squid starter (tapas) was totally lacking in imagination. The mushroom tapas was swimming in a soup-like sauce and again disappointing in taste and effort. The bread to soak up the sauce was in very short supply - there were six of us! One piece per dish?? The meatball tapas was little better - I think the ones from Aldi taste better. So, all in all a disappointing and expensive experience which I won't be repeating

This is a nice spot to have lunch and watch the world go by. We found the service to be attentive and friendly. Whilst the wine by the glass options are nice, a few more Spanish wines by the glass would be a nice touch.

Heard good reports about this newcomer to Hawthorne and we were not disappointed! Starters were shared among 6....olives, anchovies, meat balls calamari and followed by shared paella (seafood) and lamb shoulder.......excellent all round! Topped off by a very drinkable Tempranillo from Spain. Book though...very popular.

Previous reviews suggest that Ole can be a very good replacement for the restaurant that failed before them at the Hawthorne location they now occupy. We were a party of three who met for Lunch at Ole...we were the only Diners there at the time. After checking the menu, two of us selected "Meat Balls". An item listed as "CARNE. ....Hanger Steak" prepared medium rare interested me, so I asked the wait person if she could qualify what CARNE meant......she said it was a new dish but wasn't sure.....I said I was interested but prefer my meat cooked medium only and could she check with the Chef it that was able to be applied to this dish. I didn't find out what CARNE meant but was assured that the meat could be prepared "medium"....so I ordered that dish. The two dishes of Meatballs were delivered soon after but the "CARNE" was not delivered for at least 10 minutes later. By that time, the Meatball dishes were all but finished. When my dish arrived I did suggest that the three meals should have been delivered together...surely the meatballs could have been prepared to coincide with the steak dish. Secondly, the "medium " steak was actually more rare than medium. As it turned out, I quite liked the dish regardless of that, but it was not what I had ordered or had been assured could be done. To top it off, my wife asked if it was possible to get an extra slice of toast to enjoy the left over meat ball sauce but was told that was not possible. We offered to pay extra if that was what was required but were still told it was not possible. Both of my companions agreed that the Meatball dishes were delicious. In this very competitive business it is the little things that make the difference and accordingly, we wont be rushing back to Ole at Hawthorne. Downtown Turkey next door could show them how it should be done.

Wonderful Dinner. So glad we booked as the place was buzzing! People waiting outside for tables always a good sign. Mixed tapas was a great choice to start our dining experience, the went on to have the slow cooked lamb, had the lamb at Ole in South Bank and I'm delighted to say Hawthorns was just as good. Stuffed olives were a treat. Wait staff extremely efficient and very friendly , and knew the menu well. Very reasonable prices. This is my new favourite

Have tried Ole at Southbank and enjoyed it, so a visit to the new restaurant on Hawthorne road was a given. Even though it was a cool and drizzly Wednesday evening, the place was already looking busy, and I'd definitely recommend booking ahead. The portions are plentiful and tasty-particularly potatas bravas, the mixed Spanish olives and the meatballs. Good vegetarian options too, my daughter devoured her tortilla . Shared a paella, great presentation and once again really tasty.Flamenco cocktail was also a hit, service was pleasant and efficient. Great value for money too. Ole was a big hit with our family and we give it 10/10!
