When we were at the RSL last night we notice that this part of club was closed. There was a notice saying they were going to reopen soon with a new dining experience, hope they bring back their full table service restaurant Aura.

Located in the Caloundra RSL premises, Aura has had a refit with their windows which now slide open and the fresh air and breeze are welcoming on a "good weather" night.Wait staff were friendly and efficient (although one fellow was new but he did try hard). Food was really nice - especially enjoyed the Salmon. We'll be back!

The club has made some great changes. Their top restaurant Aura can now be opened up in good weather so that we can dine in fresh air!! I can not think of another restaurant of this calibre that can be airconditioned or open depending on the climate!Well done RSL and congratulations to your wonderful staff Suzie, Karen,Taylah and Kayla.

We ate there most nights there are 3 restaurants to choose from and a desert place as well, the entertainment at night is open to all and most nights was a live bands and tributes to other bands and musicians

This was our choice for dining before heading off to a show. When we entered it wasn't too busy, which was a good thing as there were very few waiters available in the restaurant, to take orders. The open space, although screened from the main walkway through the RSL club, meant it had very noisy. The menu selection offered both small and bigger meals. The mushroom filled crepes were light and moist, the calamari was very soft and the crumb crust was crunchy, although the temperature of this dish left a lot to be desired. At best I would describe it as lukewarm! The spring rolls and dipping sauce were great, but the side of wedges was far too big, even for sharing. We're were able to order our drinks at the table, which was good, although when ordering a Bacardi and Coke, we had a lot of trouble making the waiter understand just what both of those ingredients were. He didn't seem to have a clue. He was friendly, although seemed to be struggling to get anything done quickly. I would return to this venue again as I prefer to have mostly freshly cooked food rather than food from a carvery or bainmarie.

We decided to eat at 'Ish as "Aura" (the RSL's better restaurant) was closed for renovation. It's an open space restaurant (no walls so you can see the patrons walking into the club). The atmosphere is very casual - as it's really a coffee and cake restaurant during the day. We were there before 6pm which means you order your meals at the counter and they are delivered to your table (otherwise after 6pm they take your order at your table). If you want an alcoholic drink you need to go to the bar area - not nice if you're wanting a "dining" experience. The "Parmesan-crusted salmon" meals were okay for $28 each. OK if you're looking for a casual bite to eat.

Had a reasonably quick lunch at the RSL’s newish restaurant, ’Ish Wine and Dine. I think it was previously called the Clearweater Cafe.Just went for something fairly inexpensive, the BBQ Pulled Pork Open Grill. Sort of like an open sandwich. Tasty, nice pork, came with apple slaw, fennel and aioli plus chips. $16 non members. Not a big serving but ok for me for a fairly quick lunch.Other items I noticed were things like rump, crispy skinned pork belly, barramundi, baked chicken breast, seared salmon, beef burger, lamb cutlets plus a few more. Priced $20 non members through to $41 non members. Not many bargains there for lunch but perhaps those dishes are aimed mainly at evening diners. I noticed they also serve breakfast through to 4 pm, five items to pick from with a few variations, priced $15 non members to $23 non members. There’s also and a selection of Tapas dishes that would probably be good for lunch, around $12 or 3 for $30. Can’t remember if that’s members or non members prices.I visit the club occasionally when at home in Caloundra and try and catch up with their food offerings. The club’s a biggie, perhaps huge is more accurate, but is well managed and maintained with pretty good service plus there’s heaps of parking. Just a bit of info for tourists regarding their entertainment- it’s free on several days around 11 am and/or around 6 pm, best to check their website.

Visited for dinner on Tuesday 18th July. What a huge disappointment, we were expecting something special and instead received two bland meals, the pork and beef were over cooked and the sauces watered down, the rice was rubbish. The meals were less than entrée size. Ok it was only $10.00 but I expected much more than what we got. You certainly got that special meal wrong. The best part was having a cheesy garlic bread afterwards to fill us up.
